"The wine spends time in French oak. Attractive, bright golden colour in the glass. Appealing aromas of honeysuckle, preserved lemon, ripe apple, ginger and honeycomb. The palate follows through with similar descriptions, quite soft in texture with a waxy finish." James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion.
In the glass it is pale straw with green hues, showing youth and vitality. The nose is aromatically fresh and vibrant, with lifted citrus notes—lemon zest, lime blossom, and a touch of green apple. Subtle hints of lemongrass, honeysuckle, and gentle toasty nuances suggest restrained oak influence or bottle age development.
The palate is crisp and focused, delivering mouthwatering acidity balanced by delicate fruit flavours. Lemon curd, fresh-cut herbs, and white nectarine lead the charge, supported by a chalky, mineral backbone. There’s a quiet complexity—suggesting some lees work or early bottle aging that adds depth without overshadowing the wine's precision.
The finish is clean and persistent, with lingering citrus and a flinty edge, promising further reward with cellaring. Drink now for freshness or cellar 5–10 years for more honeyed, toasty character to emerge.
Perfect with oysters, grilled scallops, or a goat cheese salad.

Haven't tried this yet, but I'm always happy with what I get from the AWC, and the customer contact/reliability of delivery is always first class.
I think I will keep this 5 year old for flavours to develop: too oak dominant at the moment for my taste.
I did discovered Tim Adams Semillon when I visited the winery in the Clare Valley eight years ago and I bought a ten year old bottle. I buy them frequently now and wait until they are ten years old.
My difficulty is will I be able to keep this wine to rate it when it’s aged more. Frankly I’ve found it pretty good now and certainly one of the better Semillon that I’ve tasted recently. Very well priced as well.
I'd bought six bottles of the 2008 vintage from a major supermarket many years ago, and drank the final bottle only last month. It was superb, rich and honeyed - exactly what mature Semillon should be. This is top quality wine at a great price. Excellent service and very quick delivery too.
