"a classy and totally inline riesling. Lemon zest, lime flesh, green apples and a lick of chalk. Everything here, everything good". James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion
Mr. Mick Wines is named after the late K.H. (Mr. Mick) Knappstein, an Australian winemaking legend and Tim Adams’ mentor and friend. Tim and his wife Pam purchased the historic site in the township of Clare in late 2010 and set about reinvigorating the picturesque property into a successful winery and Clare tourist attraction.
Tim aims to continue Mr. Mick’s philosophy of making “affordable wines for everyone to enjoy”.
This wine has lemon and lime juice and orange blossom aromas and flavours, made in the classic Australian style with just a touch of residual sweetness to balance the crisp natural Clare Valley acidity. It is a pristine wine with generous length of fruit flavour; a great example which reflects a stunning 2021 vintage with dry, cool ripening conditions.

My daughter never drinks white wine. She claims to have disliked every white wine she has ever had. Mr Mick has converted her. She loved it even though she wasn’t impressed with other supermarket rieslings she tried subsequently. As she’s quite likely to raid my wine, I’m keeping the Tim Adams away from her just in case!
Tim Adams Clare Valley Riesling is my favourite white wine this year and I never get tired of drinking it. I’ve also given away rather too many bottles to family and friends because it’s so popular. So although I love it, I thought I’d give Mr Mick a try. I rate this wine as well. Perhaps a little less depth than the Tim Adams but a very nice Riesling even so. Very suited to what will, hopefully, be a hot summer. If the Tim Adams is a a 10, Mr Mick is a 9.5.
Nice light summer wine.
